“We’re excited to see construction get underway on these projects,” said ADM Group’s Principal, Ben Barcon. “Each of these schools – Madrid Neighborhood, Carol G. Peck, Cordova and Alhambra Traditional – had no indoor space suitable for physical education classes, let alone anything else. Once the work is complete, the facilities will not only accommodate PE class and athletics, but will also be open for extra-curricular activities and community-based events.”
According to Alhambra Elementary School District Superintendent Mark Yslas, the projects align perfectly with the district’s emphasis on the ‘4 A’s: Academics, Arts, Athletics, and Activities. He said, “We take great pride in enriching the lives of students by offering exposure and experiences to our next generation of leaders. Now, Alhambra students and community will have the opportunity to play sports and hold PE classes in a state-of-the-art facility, similar to what students experience in other school districts across the state.”
Ceremonies marking the start of construction work at each school will take place in the early days of November, with media and members of the community invited to attend. Dates, times and locations are below.
